First, it’s alive!

http://www.offlineinternetprofits.com

For today…

The Online Entrepreneur – Lesson 1

Becoming an online entrepreneur begins in your mind.

Not with a website.

Not with an autoresponder.

It begins in your head. That’s why I recommended those two books yesterday. (Ready, Fire, Aim and Awaken the Entrepreneur Within.)

Entrepreneurs think and process differently than the mass population.

The masses want to make cash online. Believe its overnight. And think they have a right to it. Then get upset when it does not happen immediately.

Entrepreneurs want to build businesses. They know it will take time. They know work is involved. The results are their own.

The masses want to sell an ebook (and think that’s all they will ever needed to do). The entrepreneur wants to create an empire.

As you can tell, there is different processing happening between these very opposite groups.

Why?

Because one group has been trained as an employee. The other as the owner.

One group is used to being TOLD what to do (employee).

While the other is used to DECIDING what to do (owner).

How do you break away from the pack and start deciding for yourself what your business will be and how it will operate?

Tomorrow, I’ll send you the Nicheology Ascension Model and share my business creation thoughts. Not so you’ll do what I do, but so you’ll be able to examine and use it to decide your best online route.

Success is NOT an Accident!

Paul

First, thanks to all who took the survey yesterday. Your feedback is super helpful. And future issues of this letter will serve you better because of it. Thank You!!!

http://www.nicheology.com/quicksurvey.htm

I’m here at Underground 5, Yanik Silver’s event. And yesterday I promised the good, the bad and the ugly of internet marketing seminars.

This will help you make wise decisions about attending one (or not).

The Good:

1) Exposure to “secret” ideas. If you choose the right event, you actually do get access to unique information. For example, one of today’s speakers shared how he’s made over four-million from just one ebook.

Another speaker shared about sitting in the audience three years ago with a near failing online business. Today he’s doing over 2 million a year.

2) Special Speakers. Bob Parson from GoDaddy.com spoke today. GoDaddy is 3 times larger than their nearest competitor. They sell one domain per second on average.

Bob not only shared his incredible story of success, he also shared is incredible story of near financial collapse!

3) Connections. You MIGHT meet a “guru,” but you WILL meet people in your niche you need to know. This is a huge reason to be using twitter.com. The barriers of connection on Twitter are extremely low. When you meet someone in person at a seminar you feel like you already know each other.

4) Energy. There’s something energizing about being around people with a common goal. You just don’t get that sitting at home with a laptop.

The Bad:

1) Expense. For a good event and travel costs, you’re looking at $3k+. Most of the time your money could be better spent elsewhere. You could take the $3K needed to attend a good seminar and invest in a year’s worth of personal coaching. Most likely the coach has been to all these events and already knows the “secrets.”

Sidebar: Yes, I have a coaching program. No, I’m not including a link. That way the message of this email is not undermined.

Also, even as I hammer expense, you CAN make your seminar costs back with the application of a single good idea.

2) One dimensional. You’re sitting and listening. Taking notes. Asking a few questions to a panel. On average, that’s it. You don’t actually walk away being able to DO what was talked about.

The Ugly:

1) Some seminars are nothing more than “pitch fests. Events like that simply make me want to throw up. Period. Few things in business are more irritating than paying to hear a pitch! (By the way, this does NOT happen at Yanik’s event. Speaker’s might make an offer at the very end of their talk, but it’s brief and not aggressive.)

2) Some speakers are pathetic. Poor information and poor presentations. I don’t get it. As a speaker, here’s my belief… since people pay, we should perform to the expected level and beyond. Give our best. And impact lives positively.

Bottom line: Seminars and events are worth it IF you have a predetermined goal before going. Meaning you know what you want to get from the time, who you want to meet and what the outcomes will be.

Success is NOT an Accident!!!

Paul

P.S. Tomorrow: My top takeaway from today.

Tomorrow: SYSTEM Training : Triggers

===============================

It’s Monday!

Most hate it. But when you learn to love in business/work what others hate, you gain an instant advantage.

While everyone is searching for the “do absolutely nothing and make money” secret. As they try as hard as possible to find a fortune while being lazy - if you embrace effort - if you look forward to the challenge, you will immediately pole vault the masses.

“Most people are not willing to do the hard work that makes selling easy,” Jeffrey Gitomer.

Q : How do I get people to buy what I am selling? I get decent traffic but almost no sales.

A : Without examining your complete sales process it’s impossible to answer specifically. But here are the most common problems, which, if corrected, make an instant impact.

Number 1: Sales Process.

You must have a complete map of each step a potential customer needs to make. One of the first goals is to know how you are “leading” them from the moment a person hits your site.

Take him by the hand the entire way. From squeeze page, to autoresponder series, to sales copy, to your offer, upsells, downsells; you get the idea.

Number 2: Sales Copy

Each product you sell, even affiliate products, should have “go for the jugular” copy. Not manipulative hype. Solid writing - even video - that helps the customer clearly see the possibilities for their lives.

Here’s the best web copy course I know of.

http://tinyurl.com/aeeq9f

Number 3: Sales-Confidence

Do you believe in your product? Do you believe your market MUST have it?

Confidence in yourself and your product create leverage. Your language and energy shift. Your emails, audios, copy - all become better because you are writing/sharing from being convinced the person NEEDS your product (or the product you are recommending).

Number 4: Sales Assertive

“Take it or leave it” selling works only with a few. People as a whole are scared and indecisive. They need help making the decision. Customers need to know it’s safe to take a risk on you.

You not only have to ask for the sale, you just about have to demand it.

How?

Outrageous guarantees, a boatload of bonuses they get to keep. Do what ever you have to so the potential customer KNOWS they come out ahead no matter what!

You must become more aggressive and assertive in your selling. Not belligerent or rude, but you are doing customers a favor. You are helping them when they apply what they buy!

Success is NOT an Accident!!!
Paul

P.S. Next time - What precise confidence am I missing? What is holding you back from making money online? I am not a stupid person but I am missing knowledge. There is so much information, classes, books, etc, I am spending money on too much crap. I definitely don’t lack in focus but I have no direction….again, so much stuff available, how do you determine who can help you best and move forward?

P.P.S. The only autoresponder service I recommend. http://tinyurl.com/2g5gav

Last week I asked “What’s holding you back?” and provided a 72 hour email to send in your answers and questions.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll answer the emails through the Profit Letter. There was a lot of overlap, so if you do not see your specific wording, just look for the theme that matches.

Q: What’s holding you back?

A: Buying too much crap and reading too many emails. How do I know what to buy and what to read?

01 :: Buy what you KNOW you will use.

There’s nothing wrong with buying just to learn if you have the money. If you don’t, then buy what you see yourself DOing.

02 :: If you have time, then buy what requires MORE work.

Yes, you read that right. Things that allow the “lazy” to enter the market place clutter the profit landscape. There are literally millions of junk sites and blogs because of the ability to “scrap” content into sites.

However, the person who decides to DO more has more control over the results. She can also build a more stable business.

If you’re willing to do a little more work, you’ll almost be alone in your niche.

03 :: Buy based on interpreted value.

For example. Above I mention Yanik’s Underground. If you have a history of incomplete projects - a pattern of remaining reclusive and disconnected – you believe ahead of time that it’s a scam – then save your money.

On the other hand. If you have found gold in many of the products you’ve bought. You love being around people and love meeting new people. You can hear an idea and know what it could mean to your business. Then the event will be awesome!

That’s true for ANY purchase.

Now then, when it comes to reading email, I do several things.

01 :: My FAVORITE newsletters go into a specific folder in my email client. Saved for regular review.

02 :: Others I quickly scan once a day and write down any tactic, headline or idea of interest. Then delete.

03 :: I rarely READ email. Think in terms of principles and patterns. What is being said between the lines? The email itself is rarely important, but what’s being done in the email can be HUGE.

It’s that simple. If you’re really overwhelmed with email then put a true system in place.

Visit my friend Brad http://www.tinyurl.com/8bdqn7  He’s created an awesome system to handle all your business related email issues.

Success is NOT an Accident!!!

Paul

P.S. Tomorrow – what do you do when you are overwhelmed with your online “to do list” but do not have the money to outsource?

Tomorrow the USA will hold a historic inauguration. Barak Obama will be sworn in as the first African American president. And with today being Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, it will hold even greater significance.

Here is a favorite MLK clip…

http://thekingcenter.org/

I love the message (have your speakers on).

It’s the essence of not only life, but business.

When we have a heart to serve we build great businesses. Significant businesses. Long-term businesses.

When we attempt to help, not just make a buck, our success level rises.

Take the time to watch the video it’s only a few minutes.

Success is NOT an Accident!!!

Paul

P.S. Thanks to all who answered the question “What’s holding you back?” Tomorrow we’ll begin a series that highlights the questions and possible solutions.
